Best free AI image generators without sign-up requirement

AI image generators are powerful tools that transform text descriptions into visual content. People without design skills can now create professional-looking images for their projects. This democratizes design, allowing entrepreneurs, educators, and hobbyists to produce quality images independently.

Thanks to AI image generators, cost reduction is significant. Small businesses and freelancers can generate product mockups, background images, and marketing visuals without hiring expensive photographers or designers, and can now generate custom images tailored to their exact needs.

Most AI image generators require payment or are hidden behind a sign-up wall, I have tested a large number of them, and in this post I rank them from best to worst, focusing exclusively on AI image generators that don’t require a sign-up or payment in order to use.

Some of these AI options have a limit on how many images you can generate through them for free per day, but you can always get around that by just changing your IP, clearing the cookies and cache in your browser, and using Brave browser with its strong anti-fingerprinting feature.

In my tests I used the follwoing prompt to generate a banner or a logo for my website:

Create a 3D golden metallic text "HTechMate" with shine on parts of the text, on a space background, with blurred reflection of that text, and golden debris scattered around the text.

And I used the following prompt for generating a picture of a strawberry farm:

Generate an image of a strawberry farm.

1-Creen:

This one produced the second best results from my experience, it properly understood the text-to-image prompt, it produced a medium to high resolution image, the results were very aesthetically appealing in my opinion, and it accepts image references.

You can choose your aspect ratio, upload an image reference, change the resolution up to 4k, and if you didn’t like the results, you can generate another image for free without an account, at least as long as you haven’t changed any settings except the aspect ratio.

My results:

2-NoteGPT:

This one produced the absolute best results from my experience, it properly understood the text-to-image prompt, it produced a medium to high resolution image, the results were the most aesthetically appealing in my opinion, and it accepts image references.

The disadvantages though are only one image per day, and changes to the settings such as 1k (resolution) or number of outputs will require an account and probably money too.

However, at the time of writing this, you could change the settings from fast mode to think and use an image reference without triggering the account requirement.

3-Image-Generator:

This one produced some good results from my experience. It sometimes properly understood the text-to-image prompt, it produced a medium resolution image, and the results were aesthetically appealing.

However, it has a number of disadvantages, it can only generate 10 images for free without an account, it doesn’t accept image references, some of the images generated will have glitches in them (such as missing letters), and you can’t change the resolution of the output image, you can only change the aspect ratio and image style.

My results:

4-Perchance:

This website produced ok results in my opinion, it’s free, no sign-up required, and unlimited. It properly understood the text-to-image prompt, but the images generated are in low resolution and are not visually appealing when compared to some of the other options.

My results:

5-Pixelbin:

This website produced ok results in my opinion, the images generated by it are in medium resolution but not visually appealing enough, except for the strawberry farm image, and you can only generate 1 image per day for free without signing up.

My results:

Other Options:

These options produced the absolute worst results, low quality and low resolution images; they didn’t properly understand the text-to-image prompt, and/or the results weren’t visually appealing.
